On Sunday I was at the "Panic at the Disco" concert in Munich. It was absolutely great! I knew that the voice of Brendon is fantastic, but I never knew he had such a volume. There was one part in a song, where he sang really high and I got goosebumps.
The band performed the good old songs (Yeah, also my favourite "I write sins not tragedies") and of course they presented some songs from the new album "Pretty.Odd", which will be released this month. I had the chance to hear the album already and guys, it's spectacular. They keep their happy and energetic style, but there's less electro sound and more instruments. One song sounds like a Wild West story, another one is like a barock ball. One of my favourites is "The Green Gentleman". "Mad as Rabbits" is also great. I was surprised to hear that Brendon is not the only lead singer on this album. In some songs Ryan sings great parts and in my opinion his voice is very pleasant. The album is an absolute "must have" for me. It's even better than the first one.
I also heard that the guys will abandoned the exclamation mark in their bandname. It's kind of sad, because I liked the look of it. Made it slightly aggressive and caught the attention. But okay, if they don't want it anymore. As long as they keep on making such awesome music, who am I to complain.
Oh yeah, what I didn't mention: There were two opening act. The first was the band "Dúné", the second band was "Black Gold". I can highly recommend "Dúné" (I bought their CD, because their Live performance really fascinated me). Their lead singer has a very clear and powerful voice. I really loved it. Check out their songs "80 Years" and "Dry Lips"!
Here's a link to their myspace site. The second band was not bad, but not really good either. I don't like it, when the music overpowers the singer and he follows the song rather than to control it. Anyway,
here's their myspace site.
