Okay, when was my last post? Times ago, I know. First things first: Happy new year to all of you (although it's pretty late to wish you this)! Hope you survived Christmas and all the stress.
My first week of studies has already passed. It really was an ugly week. Had to present two papers, had to sit through a very long seminar on Friday and Saturday, work and more work. But eventually today is my day for relaxing.
Unfortunately I don't have any nice pics or anything for you this time, just some rambling. Hm, what can I tell you? Oh, I know! This week I bought some tickets for David Garrett's "Virtuoso Tour 2008". In March he'll play in Munich and my flatmate and I want to go there. If you don't have a clue who David Garrett is, you'll have to go
here. He is one damn attractive violinist I'd say.Take a look at the gallery of the site.
But it's not just his looks, I so love his music (his interpretation of the classical pieces). His "Nothing Else Matters" makes me get all emotional. I am so looking forward to the concert.
Another interesting thing I learned (or rather re-learned) in the last days is, that there is a firm, which wants to save the information of whole internet, archive all websites if you so want. I had already heard about that some time ago, but I just forgot it until someone mentioned it in one of my seminars. I don't know, why someone would do such a thing, but it's damn practical. If you know, you visited a special website with super important information (aka the best ff you ever read) some time ago, but the site doesn't exist anymore, you can go to the archive site and search for the backup of your broken site. Damn cool! Here is the link to the archive:
www.archive.orgOne last thing: When I met with my friends at home,
reijamira asked me about the calender I had on my desktop. It's stylish and all and she really wanted to know, where I got it from. The calendar software of the calendar itself is called "Rainlendar". As far as I know it's freeware (only the pro version is commercial, but the normal version is good enough). Here's the link:
